Chelsea CSA
Dear CSA Members,

As we slowly make our way through the winter months our thoughts and plans are looking ahead to the upcoming 2012 season. Seeds are ordered, delivered and line the bench, their packets categorized in alphabetical order. The potting soil sits high on pallets in the greenhouses and the seeding trays seem to be calling to us. We will start the first transplants the very first of March so for the next month, we will wait.

During January and February there are classes upon classes, conferences, educational opportunities almost every week for farmers. It is the time most farmers have to travel and attend to gather new ideas, hear the latest research and make plans for the season ahead. We have been busy attending, learning, discussing new ideas, and refining our practices. We can not wait to get started.

Thank you for your membership and your commitment to eating seasonally and locally. If you have not signed up for the 2012 season, registration is now open.

Deborah
for everyone at Stoneledge Farm

Market Place Orders and Delivery for February
Market Place orders for February will once again be delivered with Winter Sun Farms Winter CSA shares. The cut off date for orders is a bit early because of the way the deliveries fall this month. Market Place orders are delivered to Chelsea with the Lower West Side Winter CSA share delivery, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House with the Upper East Side Winter CSA share delivery, Sustainable Hastings, White Plains, Westport all with the Winter CSA share delivery.

Market Place orders can also be picked up at the farm.

Market Place order Delivery for White Plains & Westport will be Thursday February 9

Market Place order Delivery for the Upper East Side, Lower West Side and Sustainable Hastings will be Tuesday February 14 for the Upper East Side Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and Chelsea Hudson Guild location for the Lower West Side, Sustainable Hastings for Hastings location

The cut off date for placing orders is Friday February 3. It is easy to place orders with the new programming system and you will receive a reminder e-mail before delivery.

Chelsea CSA
November 2011

Dear CSA Members,

What a season we have all endured. The farm has been sustained with the support and commitment of the CSA members and we can not express completely our sincere gratitude. As farmers we know the power of nature and respect both the devastation and also the blessings that are part of working within the natural world.

Seed catalogs arrive every day and we are placing orders for supplies needed for the spring. The fields are covered with a Winter Rye cover crop. The garlic is planted and waiting for the spring.

As we look forward to the upcoming season we are filled with a sense of gratitude and commitment to our CSA members and renewed understanding of what it means to be a CSA farm.

With heartfelt thanks. Happy Thanksgiving.

Deborah, Pete, Peter Jr. and Arliss
